Meet the Staff


Christopher Gross, CPA (Principal)

Christopher Gross is a Certified Public Accountant and Principal at Randall Gross & Co. Ltd.  Chris has worked extensively with small to medium sized businesses.  He enjoys working with clients, putting an emphasis on creating sound bookkeeping systems, preparation of financial statements, income tax planning & preparation, and business consultation.  Chris also regularly works with a wide variety of non-profit organizations providing audit, consulting, organizational and regulatory services.

After graduating from Barrington High School he went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Luther College in Decorah, IA.  From there he spent time in Colorado working for both small businesses and government agencies.  Upon returning to Barrington, Chris became a licensed Illinois CPA.  He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, Illinois CPA Society and several local networking and community groups.

Chris and his wife live in Barrington with their young son.  He enjoys outdoor activities including camping, hiking and fishing.  He also has a passion for vintage Volkswagens and can be found restoring and driving them when not crunching numbers.

Matthew Gross, EA(Senior Staff Accountant)

Matt Gross is a senior staff accountant at Randall Gross and Company. Matt is licensed by the Internal Revenue Service as an Enrolled Agent and is currently sitting for the Certified Public Accountant exam. Matt is involved in all aspects of the firms projects including tax preparation and consulting, estate taxes, auditing and resolving IRS issues.

Prior to returning to Barrington in 2011, Matt was the office manager for a construction company specializing in reclaimed and salvaged materials in St. Paul, MN.

Matt holds degrees from several institutions in accounting, psychology and architectural technology, including Luther College, the alma mater of both his father Randy Gross and his brother and colleague Chris Gross. Besides an interest in tax and auditing, Matt is active with the Barrington Chamber of Commerce’s Alliance of Barrington Area Professionals and volunteering for the Barrington Lions club at their multitude of charitable events.

In his free time Matt enjoys spending time with his wife and two young daughters as well as taking any chance he can get to go camping or be out enjoying the outdoors. Matt continues to enjoy using his architecture technology degree to create construction drawings with an emphasis on reclaimed materials and timber frame design.

Anita Lichtenberger (Office Manager)

Anita has been with Randall Gross & Co. since 2006 in the role of Office Manager. She assists both Chris and Matt in the day to day operations.

Prior to joining Randall Gross & Co, Anita was most recently employed by a Fortune 500 company, assisting employers with employee relocations throughout the country. Her background includes customer service, real estate sales, and real estate investing.

Anita lives in North Barrington with her husband and Golden Retriever. In her spare time she enjoys golfing, cooking, gardening and reading.
